Job Details

The Department of Dental Hygiene at Oregon Tech is seeking applications for an immediate opening in our dental clinic as a Dental Assistant 2. This is a 12 month, full time position with an excellent benefits package. The Oregon Tech Dental Hygiene program and clinic provides dental hygiene and restorative services to the general public and educates our students to become primary healthcare providers. The Dental Assistant will work side by side with OIT dentists, hygienists, faculty, and students to provide patient care and perform general dental assisting duties. The Dental Assistant will also assume the role of Sterilization Manager ensuring continued operation of equipment and clinic maintenance, and assist with general front office duties when necessary. The Dental Assistant must be able to work in a fast paced environment with a heavy patient load, and be able to work independently using critical thinking skills in stressful situations. The Dental Assistant must work collaboratively with other team members and be able to take direct orders from dentists, hygienists, faculty, and office managers.

Requirements

Requirements: One year of chairside dental assisting experience; AND Be able to obtain a Certified Dental Assistant credential from the Dental Assisting National Board; and Be able to obtain a Certification by the Oregon State Board of Dentistry for Radiological Proficiency; and Possess a valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) card at the time of appointment.
